Classic Car Trader

A classic car gets the title of 'classic' not only because of its age, but more importantly, of its ability to define a generation. Some classic car trader did this through being popular race cars, some through being limited editions. Others, however, permeated through popular consciousness through TV and movies.

Here we list down some classic cars that are popularized by television shows and movies. In no particular order:

1. The '69 Dodge Charger (with a 429 Hemi Engine)
This monster car was popularized by our ever-so-loved brothers, the Dukes. Yes, this sweet vintage car is none other than the good old General Lee. Who could forget this car? The shiny red paint and the number "01" on both sides is enough to bring back good memories. And of course, that "Dixie" tune when they honk the horn is priceless. In 1997, one of the models of this car sold at an auction for a whopping $450,000.

2. The 1972 Ferrari Daytona Spyder 365 GTS/4
The prize car of the Ray-Ban-wearing, Bren-Ten-toting Miami Vice policemen: this black beauty is actually not a real Ferrari--the ones they used in the set were replicas or kit-makes. And understandably so: who would want to drive a Ferrari onto guns-a-blazin' territory? Later, when Enzo Ferrari filed a lawsuit against the car's makers (or copiers), the show blew it up and replaced it with an '86 Testarossa.

3. The Ferrari 308 GTS
This car is from the sleazy show, Magnum P.I. When you live in a great house in Hawaii, go to work whenever you want, and are surrounded by gorgeous babes, do you really need a cherry-red classic car to top it all off?

4. The Aston Martin DB5
So we have cops, detectives, vigilantes, and of course, who could forget spies? The stylish Aston Martin DB5 was driven by the world's most loved secret agent and playboy extraordinaire. Yes, the DB5 is Mr. Bond's classy car. This car is so associated with Sir 007 that its price skyrocketed after the first few Bond films. A modified one was sold in 2006 for $2,090,000. Talk about great marketing.

5. The DeLorean DMC 12
Great sparks! Don't underestimate this clunky-looking car, as it will literally bring you back... to the future. Not necessarily a generation-defining car in terms of use on the road (its gullwing doors are far from being practical), but it defined the '80s with its time-traveling capacities on screen. If you see one on the road, you'll surely be ecstatic.

6. The '55 Ford Lincoln Futura
Atomic batteries to power, turbines to speed... but of course, there are no afterburners are in the real Futura. This is the classic Batman TV series car, with the tailfins and wacky windshields, minus the Bat Gizmos, of course.

7. The 1975 Ford Gran Torino
This red-hot car was not popular during the '70s and '80s, but is nonetheless known for its role as Starky's prized possession. For classic car enthusiasts though, Starsky's way of treating it is a little teeth-clenching, to say the least. The man drives it as if it cost a cent!

8. The 1982 Pontiac Trans-Am
And of course, who could resist remembering KITT from Knight Rider? David Hasselhoff? Nah, he's forgettable. But a classic car with flamethrowers, an intelligent AI, bomb sniffer, sleep gas, tear gas launcher, and tons of other gizmos is undeniably etched in history.

Age is just a quarter of what makes a car classic. These television and movie rides are so well-known, so embedded in popular culture, that they defined generations. And that is what a real classic car is made of.
